Hassan Fareed was deliberately disappeared by English
The disappearance of Hassan Fareed is a common story and has become a simile used to describe missing persons.

The only credible source of information is what the English had provided us – the vessel departing from Addu to either Male’ or Colombo was attacked either by German of Japanese submarines. However, there is no archeological or historical proof that lends credence to this claim. The remains of the Victory Boat are still there.

The waters of Maldives and Sri Lanka have been extensively combed over the years in search of that vessel. The Governments of Maldives and Sri Lanka on various purposes have embarked on this as well. The extensive searches had failed to reveal the vessel. Are we to believe that after gunning down the vessel, it was transported to either Germany or Japan?

There is a story that says that the paint and the exterior of the vessel was changed in mid-journey. This and the fact that the vessel was never discovered lends credence to the legend that Hassan Fareed was extradited or murdered.

He was last heard of on March 27, 1944. What had happened that day must be found for posterity’s sake.
