Chinese national becomes the 750,000th visitor to Maldives
A Chinese national has become the 750,000th visitor to the Maldives, along with her family.

“We came to Maldives five years ago for our honeymoon. After five years we came with our child. We’ll come back six months later. We’re very lucky,”

Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer, Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Wang Fukang, heads of Island Aviation, MACL, MMPRC, Civil Aviation Authority and representatives of the tourism industry attended the welcoming ceremony held in Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.

Chinese Ambassador said that he was delighted that a Chinese national became the 750,000th visitor to the country. He added that he hoped that the number of Chinese citizens visiting Maldives will increase in the future, given the millions of outbound tourists from the country annually.

Maldivian is currently increasing the outbound flights to China to increase the number of tourists from China to the Maldives.

Minister Zameer said that though this was the off season, the arrivals were at a reasonable level and is expected to increase once the high season begins.
