Officers of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) have been banned from meeting with politicians and attending social gatherings with politicians along with other such events, without any prior permission from a senior official of MNDF.
Officers cannot meet State Ministers, Presidential appointees, Election Candidates, Leaders of political parties, activists, Diplomats, officials of foreign military and other foreign dignitaries without permission.
MNDF said that the Defence Ministry has ordered that while their officers must serve their national duty without being impartial or bias they should keep their actions in a way that upholds the honor and sanctity of the MNDF away from all political and other influences.
