Health Protection Agency (HPA) has ordered not to sell cigarette packs with advertisements that did not follow regulations.
HPA said that one of the brands of cigarettes in market is on sale with an advertisement inside the pack as reported by public. The agency said they had investigated on the issue and had noted that such packs have been sold widely in the market.
HPA cautioned shops to be aware of this and urged to halt the sale of existing stocks and to ensure that the existing stocks were without illegal ads.
HPA added they will be conducting an operation to check shops for such cigarette packs with the assistance of relevant agencies and will enact any measures necessary.
