Minister of Defense and National Security Adam Shareef has stated that Police officers and Army service personnel were at the forefront of national safety and security, in spite of dire circumstances facing the nation, usually at great personal risk.
He made the statement speaking in the closing ceremony of island wide planning and training program held by MNDF Male’ Area, National Disaster Management and Island Councils of V. Fulidhoo and V. Keyodhoo.
He said the services rendered by these service personnel for national protection and security were appreciated by the public. The Minister added that the public should value the hard work and dedication demonstrated by these personnel and be grateful for that.
Defense Minister Shareef noted that the 1500 flats announced by President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom will provide adequate housing, stating that these will be completed by next year.
