Adeeb denies having brought in sniper
Former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb has denied the charges of having employed and brought in Lahiru Madhushankar, a sniper from Sri Lanka to assassinate President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayyoom.

Adeeb had refuted the charges raised against him. The Court had granted Adeeb a three-day period to appoint his legal counsel.

Fazeel Hameed of M. Lilypark and Ishaq Hussain of G. Oivaali is also charged in this case. Fazeel was an individual tagged under the Monicon system. Both have denied the charges and their lawyers have requested for case documentation to prepare their defense.

The Court today ordered both of them to be retained in custody until the case is completed.
