Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim has stated that the islands rather than Male’ place more emphasis on cleanliness and proper waste disposal.
Speaking to press regarding the 3R day marked in the country today, Minister Thoriq said that activities were being held in 28 islands to mark the 3R day, including awareness campaigns and waste disposal campaigns.
Thoriq said that Maldives was at a critical juncture when it comes to environment and therefore proper waste disposal was vital to protecting the environment. He added that this cannot be just something the country attempted only on the 3R day.
Minister Thoriq appealed all to make everyday a 3R day, placing special emphasis proper waste disposal.
