Parliament has amended the Political Parties act so that the political party members without fingerprints get dismissed from the Party registers unless they resubmit their forms with complete details.
The motion was proposed by Feydhoo Constituency MP Ibrahim Didi, passed with 40 MPs voting in favor and 25 against the motion.
Following the amendment, the members will have to submit completed forms with name, address, ID card number, age, fingerprint, signed date and a copy of the ID card to qualify to be a member of a Party.
