Indian Government has given the go ahead to budget airliner GoAir to begin operations to the Maldives.
GoAir had been granted license to operate flights from Mumbai and Delhi to the Maldives.
Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer had previously said the Government will facilitate easier access for Indians travelling to the Maldives.
Most of Indian traveler to the Maldives come from the South and direct flights to and from the area will capitalize on the sector’s travel, especially a budget airliner.
GoAir had requested for permits to fly to 14 countries but so far permits had been granted for nine destinations.
