Over 10k customers for Addu City bus services
MPL CEO Mohamed Junaid has stated that over a 10,000 customers have used bus services since the company launched the service in Addu City.

Speaking to press, Junaid said this was more than they had anticipated and that they expected this trend to continue.

The company is pushing forward the opening of the Feydhoo Port terminal while Hulhumeedhoo terminal is already operational.

Junaid said the Addu bus services were provided at a loss to the company and that he hoped that Dhoogas island will soon be leased to the company to offset that loss.

“Just on jobs alone, that’s around 200 jobs. We’ll be able to bring in tourists within two months after the island is handed over, bring in profits to Addu City citizens,”

He said the company will develop an artificial beach in Dhoogas.

Junaid said the company placed utmost importance on creating jobs for youth as pledged by the President assuring that the three-star property in Hithadhoo will begin as soon as permits are granted.
