Former Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Shaheem Ali Saeed has been appointed as the new Chancellor of the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).
Shaheem’s predecessor, Dr. Mohamed Zahir Hussain, has been appointed as an advisor at the Islamic Ministry.
Dr. Shaheem was instrumental in the formation of the University. Following his resignation as the Minister, Dr. Shaheem had served in the University diversifying the University. His work has been commended at an international level.
His appointment is expected to bring in better changes to the University.
