Chinese embassy in Maldives has donated money to the Maldives Autism Association. Chinese ambassador Wang Fukang presented the USD 8,100 (MVR 124,902) to the Autism Association in a special ceremony held at Autism Association headquarters on Monday morning.
Ifhaam reported to media after the ceremony that the Chinese embassy was a regular donor to the Autism Association. She said that the money would be used to fund therapy, make fee settlements for children who are unable to make the payment, and to give teachers their salary. Previous donations to the Autism Association by the Chinese embassy include computer systems.
“We wish to thank Chinese embassy for their assistance. We thank them and all those who have provided assistance to us,”
The Ambassador said that Chinese Embassy will continue to provide assistance to all the civil society organizations. He noted that the contribution made by those organizations were vital in national development, adding that they will continue to provide all assistance in a bid to support the national development efforts as pioneered by the President.
