Lily Group Chairman Mallaa Ahmed Nasir has stated that holding high level expos will boost both the tourism sector and businesses.
Speaking to Miadhu, Nasir today said that Lily International, part of the Lily Group, was the main sponsor of FAHM, as they were quite aware of the benefits of this expo to the sector and businesses.
Nasir said that based on current tourism sector standards tourism related events and activities also will have to match that standard.
Nasir added that the tourism that began in 1972 from bare bones was developed to this level by the hard work of Maldivians and it was the responsibility of this generation of tourism innovators to push the existing boundaries. He said Lily Group was fulfilling this role.
120 stalls have been set aside in the exhibition for local and international resort suppliers, with 500 chefs participating in the culinary challenge to showcase their skills.
