An official of the government of Maldives have said that the world does not believe the “drama” produced by Al-Jazeera.
Speaking to Miadhu, the official said that in the long history of Maldives, most number of foreign loans has been given to this country during this administration.
“No one will give aid or loans, if the government is not an honest government. Foreign countries will not help governments that are of sinister nature “said the official.
He further said that the biggest loan by Kuwait Fund to a non-Arab country was given to Maldives. “That is the 50-million-dollar loan given to develop the new terminal of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.”
He said that the opposition are envious of this administration because this government is accepted and trusted by the international community. Also that numerous developmental projects are being carried out throughout the Maldives because of this.
“One way or the other they are trying to make life difficult for citizens, they are trying to make the people angry, but with the will of Allah they will not be successful.”
Speaking at the ceremony which granted the 50-million-dollar loan to Maldives, Hisham Al-Wayyan said that the Kuwait fund recognizes the achievements of this administration in terms of economic development and that the Kuwait Fund is ready to assist Maldives even in future.
“I hope that I will be able to come back to Maldives and sign more agreements like this” said Hisham.
Hence, this proves that it is not only China and Saudi Arabia that is helping the Maldives.
