State Minister at Environment Ministry Abdullah Majeed has stated that private companies have the opportunity to conduct renewable energy projects in collaboration with Japan.
Speaking to press in Hotel Jen, Abdullah Majeed said that Japan gave extreme importance to developing environment project.
He said though Maldives was the fifth participant in the JCM program, the first meeting was held in the country, further signifying the importance Japan gave to the Maldives.
He added that renewable energy products conducted by the Government alone cannot make much a change and that private sector participation was necessary.
