Jumhooree Party has passed to contest in January 2017 Local Council elections.
JP SG Ahmed Sameer today said the Council Members in today’s meeting had agreed to contest. The Party will make a decision on e-voting in a later stage.
Sameer said neither the Council nor the Party leadership had faith in the e-voting system.
“Elections Commission says that they will conduct e-voting in certain areas. So the council had issued a directive to gather more information on the issue, which we will,”
Sameer today also noted that EC had not acted justly over the submission of Party membership forms and therefore, questioned how they can trust the e-voting system.
