Housing Minister Dr.Mohammed Muizz have said that the construction work of the China Maldives Friendship Bridge is going on faster than the schedule.
Speaking to the press he said that now, actual work is not visible from Lonuziyaarah Magu unlike before, because of the type of work going on. Dr.Muizz said that both the government of Maldives and China wants to finish the bridge by 26th July 2018, even though as per the agreement the bridge should be finished by September 2018.
Opposition politicians have said that the work of the bridge is halted due to lack of finance. However, Minister Muizz said that those were false allegations and that the construction work of the bridge is the fastest among other major infrastructure developments in the Maldives.
