Staffs of Maldives Ports Limited has cleaned the unloading area of MPL this morning.
The cleaning program was kick started by CEO of MPL Mohamed Junaid and other senior staffs of MPL. Speaking to Miadhu, Junaid said that they initiated the cleaning program because that area has not been cleaned for a long time and the condition of the area is at a dangerous level.
He said that, the area is now too dangerous to drive because of left over grease has made the roads slippery. “This area is very slippery, and hard to walk. Sharp objects like nails are buried beneath the ground and vehicles are damaged almost every day. This is a huge barrier in providing quality services” said Junaid.
Junaid further said that, they have imported a special chemical to clean the area and now they are using that chemical to clean the slippery surface. “This is an expensive mechanism. But after we clean today, then we won’t have to use chemicals everyday” said Junaid. He said that now they have made a special cleaning unit at MPL to clean that area and from now on they will keep that area clean.
“If done regularly this is not much a work. We have the equipment. We have pumps, guns, brushes, pipes and people. We just need to do it systematically. With the will of Allah, we will keep on maintaining this area like that” said Junaid.
When MPL started the program today, it was raining. However, CEO Junaid led the team himself. This shows how much he prioritizes things like this.
