Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizz has stated that national progress was escalating at a rapid pace and it cannot be stopped.
Speaking in the launching ceremony of the One Avenue by Damas in Hulhumale’, Dr. Muizz said that construction sector was the second fastest growing sector in the country. He said the speed of growth of the sector was clearly seen.
He said the sector was languishing in the past three years and had thrived under this Government.
“We can see this from the amount of permits given by the Ministry every day,”
Dr. Muizz said any progress in construction industry is a sign that the economy was progressing, which has been demonstrated by economic development.
Reflecting on the housing schemes run by the Government, Dr. Muizz said housing was not restricted to one sector of the population.
Dr. Muizz said the Government will seek to provide housing for all but required the participation of private sector to fulfill this aim.
