“Stealing Paradise” documentary shows a desperate opposition trying to “steal” the government.
Everyone has now seen the documentary “Stealing Paradise” which was produced with great assistance from Maldives United Opposition.

Only one thing was witnessed from this documentary. A desperate opposition trying to topple the government with foreign help. There was nothing new on this so called documentary. The only difference is the platform it was presented on. Everything else is the same.

One evidence that this documentary is biased is the fact that it showed the fire incident in Rajje TV but failed to show MDP activists setting fire to VTV.

So far it is not known why RTV was set on fire. But in the case of VTV everyone knows that it was done on the orders of MDP leadership. Just minutes after MDP leadership gave this order the TV was set on fire. This happened during MDP administration. Everyone knows this. If this is not state terrorism, then what is state terrorism?

It is not secret there are groups of people who want to topple the government. They will try whatever possible means to do that.

The government and the people of Maldives are already aware of MMPRC corruption case. No one denies this. The government has taken action against those who are involved in this.

But the most important question is, if we are to compare the corruption of Nasheed’s government and Maumoon’s government will MMPRC corruption amount to anything? Just yesterday Nasheed announced that he and Maumoon are together. So keeping that in mind we can add up the corruption vases of both the leaders, issued by the Auditor General.

Nasheed said that both Maumoon and him are working for democracy. So the infamous jail shooting in Maafushi must be also about promoting democracy. All those types of incidents of the Maumoon regime must be about democracy now.

Everyone wants to get rid of corruption from the Maldives. Everyone should work hard to do that. But that does not mean the people of Maldives are ready to become a colony of the British or of any other country. Maldivians will never accept that.

If MDP is indeed a party working against corruption, why would the most corrupt politicians from all the administrations of the Maldives are present in MDP leadership now.

There is no need to make a documentary by any foreigners. PSM should make a documentary about all corrupt activities that happened between 11th November 1978 to 7th February 2012. Then we will clearly see the real culprits.

Since Nasheed and Maumoon became partners, whatever happened between in both their regimes will be seen as one. The people of Maldives are waiting to see such a documentary by PSM.
