Saudi Arabian government have said that, the Hajj day sermon will not be delivered by Sheikh Abdul Azeez Ibn Abdullah because of ill health. The sermon will be delivered by a different sheikh.
Sheikh Abdul Azeez started delivering Hajj Day sermons 35 years ago. Since then, he has delivered the sermon continuously.
He was appointed as the top mufti of Saudi Arabia in 1999 when mufti Abdul Azeez bin Abdullah Bin Baaz passed away.
Sheikh Ibn Abdullah lost his eye sight at the age of 17. His mother encouraged him to study even though he lost his eye sight. Allah accepted the Dua made by his mother. “ Make my son someone who raises voice for the Islamic ummah” prayed his mother. His mother’s prayers were accepted after 20 years and has continued till this year.
Sheikh Ibn Abdullah is now 73 years old.
