“World Quran Hour” held for the first time in Maldives.

Islamic University of the Maldives has participated and completed the “World Quran Hour” program this year.
Religious information was given at the program by the Chancellor of IUM Dr.Mohammed Shaheem, Dr. Mohammed Ali, Hawwa Latheefa and Sheikh Abdul Azeez Hussein.

The focus of the program was on the importance of being thankful to Allah because Allah is the sustainer of everything in existence. Also that by being thankful to what we have Allah will provide with us more.

In addition, the scholars discussed about fulfilling one’s right to the parents and importance of keeping family ties strong.

The program was conducted from 9:00 to 10:00 this morning at the Islamic University of Maldives. World Quran Hour is an initiation of Malaysia and has been conducted every year since 2013. This is the first time that Maldives is taking part in the event. Maldives participated in the event with the initiation taken by Islamic University of Maldives.

Some other countries that conducted the program today include Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Indonesia, Egypt, Brunei, USA, Singapore, Australia, and the UK.
