Several thousands of Muslims worldwide are congratulating Ambassador Simon Paul Collins for finding the true path in life by converting to Islam at a time when, Islamophobia is on the rise,
British Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Paul Collins has converted to Islam and completed the Hajj pilgrimage. He is the first, and the most senior British diplomat to have converted to Islam to this date.
His conversion to Islam was revealed when Saudi author Fauziyya Al Bakr tweeted a pictured of Mr.Collins and his Syrian wife Hudha performing Hajj. In reply Collins thanked Fauziyya and his wife Hudha retweeted it, and confirmed Collin’s conversion.
Ambassador Simon Paul Collins has confirmed in his twitter account that he converted to Islam just before marrying Hudha.
He has spent around 30 years in Islamic societies. He was former Ambassador to Syria, Iraq, Qatar and India. Collins and his wife has 5 children together.
The first person to congratulate Collins was, Princess Basma. The ambassador also thanked Basma for her support and kind words. The British Hajj delegation was quite surprised when they learned about his conversion. The head of the delegation Raashid Mugdaariya also congratulated him. Ambassador Collins is among the 19,000 British nationals who performed Hajj this year.
Ambassador has a long history of serving in the diplomatic field. He has been serving in the British Foreign office since 1978. He is fluent in Arabic.

Collis was educated at King Edward VII School, Sheffield from 1967 until 1973 and at Christ's College, Cambridge.
He has held posts in Bahrain, Tunisia, India, Jordan, Dubai, and Basra. He was Consul General in Basra between 2004 and 2005.
