The Maldives Strongly Condemns the Terrorist Attack on the Army Base in Kashmir

The Government of Maldives condemns in the strongest terms, the terrorist attack on the Army Base in Uri in Kashmir, India, on 18 September 2016, killing 17 soldiers and injuring many more.
Terrorism is a threat to regional and international peace, security, and democracy. The Maldives has always condemned international terrorism, especially those originating from outside, defeating and eliminating which requires international collaboration and cooperation in good faith. The Government of Maldives remains with the Government and people of India in the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

At this time of national grief, the Government and the people of Maldives extend sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families and profound sympathies to the Government and the people of India.
