The fishermen’s park near the Hulhule’ jetty has been changed to a vehicle parking zone.
In a tweet Housing Minister Dr.Mohammed Muizzu said today that the area was changed to a parking zone temporarily and some other areas will be changed to parking zones as well.
Dr.Muizzu said that soon, mechanical parking systems will be installed all around Male’.
Lot of people say that the streets of Male’ are crowded due to systematic failures. For example, some narrow alleys are blocked because, there are no lines on the street to mark the alley.
This can be seen when, you turn towards Handhuvaree hingun, from Ameeny Magu. In addition. House owners have the right to forbid others from parking in front of their garage but there is no one to stop blocking the small Lanes.
Due to parking in front of narrow lanes, such lanes are blocked and it is a huge burden for people whose houses are located on such lanes.
