Maldives Hospitality Workers have complied a report to submit to Commonwealth after saying that the report submitted to Commonwealth about Maldives by an NGO was extremely biased and untrue.
They say that their aim is to provide valid facts about the development this country has attained under the leadership of President Yameen.
Their report shows the development Maldives has attained in the past 2 years. According to the report, Maldivian government has brought immense developments in areas highlighted by CMAG and other areas as well.
“President Yameen’s government has achieved success in important areas such as promoting human rights, separation of state powers, promoting good governance, sustainable development, and identifying the needs of small island nations, all which are important areas in the Commonwealth charter as well. In addition, numerous development can be seen in the economic and social sector” said the report.
In addition, the report says that this government has made thousands of new jobs, is empowering youth, introduced loans schemes for the youth, established sewage systems in various countries, improved the health sector in a rate never seen before, opened pharmacies in all the islands. Also the report mentions the mega projects such as the airport development project, China Maldives Friendship bridge and various other airport developmental projects in the Maldives.
“All of this proves that the economy and democracy of Maldives is developing. The government also recognizes areas where there needs to be improvement. We believe that the government is working on these areas as well”
Maldives Resort Workers said that they will submit this detailed report to Commonwealth country and the Commonwealth secretariat.
