The Speaker of the Parliament Abdullah Maseeh have said that the achievements of Saudi Arabia are worth celebrating.

He said that while speaking at the ceremony held to mark the 85th national day of Saudi Arabia. He said that Suadi Arabia is among the most economically developed 20 countries (G20) and also that Saudi Arabia is the Richest and most developed country in the Arab world.

Maseeh also noted how King Salman Bin Abdul Azeez considers Maldives as a close friend. “during his visit to the Maldives, he promised to open a Saudi embassy in the Maldives. Within few days it was opened” said Maseeh.

In addition, Maseeh noted that even though Maldives and Saudi Arabia are the only 100% Islamic nations in the world, it is during the reign of King Salman and the government of President Yameen, where the relation between the two countries have become the strongest.

Maseeh also said that the Saudi Ambassador to Maldives Badr Ali Al Haikal gives a lot of importance to the needs of Maldives and is always eager to help. “Even though he is a young man, he puts in a lot of effort to help Maldives in several ways” said Maseeh.

He further noted the amount of help Saudi Arabia is continuously giving to Maldives and other nations in the Islamic world. King Salman increased the Hajj quota of Maldives from 1000 to 2000 since Last Year.
