Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Ziyaad Baaqir have said that Oman will provide assistance to the Maldives in the advancement of the Waqf fund and also in other areas.
Minister Ziyad held discussions with Khaalid Bin Khildh Al-Mawwali, the President of the Shura Majlis of Oman who is visiting Maldives on an invitation of the Speaker of Parliament, Abdullah Maseeh.
Speaking after the meeting, Dr. Ziyad said that apart from assisting the Waqf Fund, they discussed about teaching Arabic as a language at the Quran Center, building mosques and bringing systematic improvements to Zakath in Maldives.
He said that, to finalize the discussions, a delegation from Maldives need to visit Oman and vice versa. Dr.Ziyad said that, the President of Shura Majlis will return to Oman and hold discussions with related authorities in Oman and then will reach a decision on how they will assist Maldives.
