Faarish Maumoon, MP for Dhiggaru constituency has questioned the financial condition of the country.
Faarish said that, the standards to rank a country’s financial condition is always available to the public. He said that the change in subsidies policy was not preplanned and even when the government proposed the 2016 budget, this was not mentioned.
He said that making a big step like reducing the subsidies all of a sudden, makes him question the financial condition of the state.
Faarish made these statements on twitter earlier today.
Meanwhile, former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom, father of Faarish Maumoon has also spoken against the introduction of targeted subsidies. In addition, former Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon, the sister of Faarish also has spoken against the changes brought to subsidies policies.
Some people say that Faarish and his family’s criticism of the government shows that now they are secretly working with the opposition.
