Opposition MDP has protested in Addu City, opposing the increasing in prices of staple food and electricity. Prices increased because government reduced subsidies on staple food items and eliminated electric subsidies.
The protests started around 1545 today and the protestors held placards with anti-governmental slogans. The protestors said that increasing prices of basic necessities will be a huge burden on the people.
People of Addu are saying that, with the increase in prices, the biggest burden is on the people of Addu because they have to pay the most.
MP for S.Feydhoo constituency, Ibrahim Didi said in PPM PG Viber group that he is unable to face the people because of these recent policy changes of the government.
