Five students have been certified as Haafizs after their successful memorization of the Holy Quran.
The five students are Bassam Sulaimaan, Funakuri, Ha.Dhidhoo, Sultan Muhammad Latheef, Fehige, Dh.Meedhoo, Himna Muhammad Iyaaz, H.Lucky, Male’, Mariyam Hulma Mashkoor, Ihaa, S.Hithadhoo and Aala Azmath Jameel, Ma.Naares, K.Male’.
The students were given the certificates tonight, at the ceremony held to start the National Quran Recitation competition. The certificates were awarded by the chief guest of the ceremony, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr.Ahmed Ziyad Baaqir.
The Center for Holy Quran has been doing extensive work in facilitating the memorization of Quran. In the last 4 years they have further improved upon their work in spreading Quranic knowledge.
One such endeavor of the center is training students within the atolls via video conference. The center aims to train 500 Haafizs.
