Speaker of the Parliament Abdullah Maseeh have said that Maldives is ranked better than USA and UK in paying equally for both genders.
He said that while speaking at the ceremony held tonight at Fuvahmulah to inaugurate the water and sewage systems development project. Maseeh said that the presidential candidates of USA are speaking about the gender pay gap in the US. He also said that the Prime Minister of UK is also talking about the same issue.
Maseeh said that in Maldives, both men and women are paid equally and the situation in Maldives is far better than the US and the UK. He said that, there will be always something the people are in need of, as it is in other countries as well.
He further said that there are various development projects going on all over Maldives and the people should think about it with an open mind. “If you think about it by keeping your brain inside a PVC pipe, then you can’t see it. You should open up your mind and think about it” said Maseeh.
Maseeh said that the people of Fuvahmulah always think with an open mind and in the upcoming elections, they will elect President Yameen again.
Praising the women of Fuvahmulah, he said that the women always lead in the campaigns and the men follow women.
