MPL have said that once they started measuring the amount of fuel supplied by Meridiam, they were able to save 100,000 liters of fuel monthly. According to MPL the amount of fuel saved amounts to 1.2 million Rufiyaa and 14.4 million per annum.
Speaking to the press the CEO of MPL Muhammad Junaid said that previously the oil tankers arrived at MPL at midnight to supply fuel and that they were not able to measure the amount supplied by them.
“I don’t know what they do here at midnight. Staffs have taken pictures of them driving around the premises. What I know is that we do not need 160,000 liters of fuel per month. That’s why we made arrangements to measure the fuel” said Junaid.
Junaid said that now the fuel should be supplied to a tank instead of directly to the vehicles, and then the company vehicles will be refueled by an MPL oil tanker. “Previously only one person signed on the delivery forms. Now three departments will sign the forms” said Junaid.
He said that with this change, they identified that they only need 60,000 liters of fuel instead of “so supplied” 160,000.
Junaid said that they were able to save 1.2 million Rufiyaa per month due to this change. He said that annually that would amount to 14.4 million Rufiyaa which means that they have saved a lot of money for the company.
