Delayed justice to Colonel Nazim is a matter of great concern: Family
Former Defense Minister Retired Colonel Muhammad Nazim’s family have said that he has still not received justice, and that they are greatly worried and concerned about it.

Speaking to the press at Mookai Hotel, Nazims’s brother Adam Azim said that they have requested the police to investigate Nazim’s case again because another person’s DNA was found from the pistol that was found in Nazim’s room and also because they know who planted the pistol in his room. However he said that, the police have not started the investigations.

He further said that the police even said that Nazim was sentenced before police finished their investigations and the PG has also not yet agreed to meet and talk with them regarding the case.

Azim said that he believes that the Supreme Court should take this case as a sumoto case and investigate it because an innocent person as getting punished for no reason. He also said that Human Rights Commission of the Maldives and other related authorities in the Maldives have given a blind eye to this case. He said that he believes, they should try to get justice within the mechanisms in Maldives.

He further said that Nazim will not flee Maldives and will stay in jail even if it is for 1000 years. He said that Nazim wants to make Maldives a place where everyone is treated justly and people are able to live in harmony.

In addition, his family noted that Nazim’s health condition is serious now and still they have not been provided the means to treat him. Azim said that they are submitting Nazim’s case to international organizations because they do not have any guarantee that he will get justice from Maldives and that they will do whatever it takes to get him justice.
