An administrative office of PPM is to be opened tomorrow. The purpose of the office is to conduct administrative works and to accept party membership forms.
After a council meeting chaired by the Chief Adviser of PPM, Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayyoom, the VP of PPM Abdullah Abdu Raheem said that the office will be located in an area which will be easily accessible by people who come from the atolls as well.
Abdul Raheem said that President Yameen will run in 2018 elections, but it will be officially informed to the party once the party announces candidates to inform the party about the intent to run in the elections. Abdul Raheem also said that the meeting held earlier today by President Maumoon is not a valid meeting of the council because the members present at the meeting were not really council members. He said that hence all the decisions made in that meeting will be invalid. In addition, he said that those who want to run in the council elections with PPM ticket, can apply for the party ticket via the administrative office that is going to be opened tomorrow.
Abdul Raheem said that there can be a name plate anywhere, but until a national congress of the party is held, the decisions of the party will be taken by the Chief Advisor of the party.
Nineteen members including Ghassan Maumoon, participated in tonight’s meeting.
