The leisure zone made by MPL for cargo clearing laborers has been opened. The leisure zone was opened this morning by Landhoo Muhammad who has been working with cargo clearing laborers for the past 30 years. He also has the maximum number of laborers under him at the port.

The leisure zone has facilities for playing cards, carom, chess, and other indoor games such as darts. The leisure zone was built by MPL staffs with materials given by MPL. All gaming equipment were also given by MPL.

CEO of MPL, Muhammad Junaid said that they used the maximum available space to make this zone and this is something MPL did for the laborers.

Junaid said that he wants the laborers to have the same benefits, that are received by cargo clearing laborers in most developed countries. He said that the leisure zone was not perfect as he wanted due to the limitation of space, but he is trying to make sure that all other facilities are as perfect as possible.

Speaking at the ceremony, Landhoo Muhammad said that he believes those laborers who have been working at the port for 30 years should have some rights, and that it is President Yameen who has done something like this for them. Muhammad thanked President Yameen on behalf of all laborers. Also he thanked President Yameen for appointing kind hearted people to the senior management of MPL.

In addition, Muhammmad thanked CEO of MPL, Muhammad Junaid for recognizing that even laborers have rights and for providing them with various services.
