Fly on AirAsia’s Airbus A330 aircraft to Kuala Lumpur


• AirAsia is the only airline to connect the Maldives directly to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
• Airbus A330 aircraft has a total capacity of 377 seats with 12 Premium Flatbeds

MALE, 19 OCTOBER 2016 – AirAsia, the only airline to connect the Maldives directly to Kuala Lumpur is now operating the Airbus A330 aircraft which has a capacity of 377 seats with 12 Premium Flatbeds, and is offering promotional all-in-fares from as low as USD99* one way on economy seats, and from USD239* one way for the Premium Flatbeds.

Bookings for the promotional fares are available online at airasia.com from now until 23 October 2016, as well as on the airline’s mobile app on iPhone and Android devices. The travel period will be from now until 31 December 2016.

Spencer Lee, Head of Commercial for AirAsia Berhad said, “We are proud to be the only airline that provides direct connectivity between the Maldives and Malaysia, and are pleased to share that response from both ends have been very encouraging, resulting in our decision to operate a larger aircraft to facilitate the strong market demand.”

Direct flights from the Maldives to Kuala Lumpur by AirAsia were previously operated on the Airbus A320 which offered 180 seats on a single economy class.

The AirAsia Airbus A330 aircraft Premium Flatbeds were awarded ‘World’s Best Low Cost Airline Premium Seat’ by Skytrax for four consecutive years, and feature universal power sockets, adjustable headrests and built-in personal utilities such as tray table, drink holder, reading light and privacy screen. Guests travelling on Premium Flatbeds can also enjoy premium complimentary products and services including priority check-in, priority boarding, priority baggage, 40kg baggage allowance, complimentary meals as well as a pillow and duvet.
