A pre-meeting was arranged by MMPRC in order to provide detailed information to the industry partners attending the World Travel Market (WTM). The maintain objective of the pre-meeting is to give out detailed information of the fair and providing the opportunity for the co-participants to clarify any information before the start of the fair.
168 representatives from 66 companies will be taking part in WTM 2016 to be held in London, UK from 7 – 9 November 2016. Hon. MoosaZameer, Minister of Tourism will be heading the Maldives delegation. Maldives will be represented in a 276 sqm space and is located at the Asia / Pacific & Indian hall.
WTM is one of the largest international tourism fair. Its 37th edition this year now facilitates £2.5 billion in industry transactions and has around 5,000 exhibitors from 182 countries and regions and more than50,000 participants.In addition to the usual business that takes place at the stands, WTM also organizes conferences and seminar programmes for the participants. Hence, WTM features more than 80 events across the course of three days, delivering thought provoking and inspiring content from a diverse range of sectors.
It is important that Maldives maintain a bigger presence in WTM in order to attract more business and visitors. UK is one of the biggest market to the Maldives with 68,286 visitors which is a 8.1 percent of the total market share as at August 2016.
