High Court has supported the Civil Court order to handover PPM administration to President Yameen, the Chief Advisor of PPM.
The Civil Court verdict ordered PPM to handover the administration of the party to the Chief Advisor and to hold a PPM council meeting within 24 hours.
However, according to PPM’s by laws the Chief Advisor does not have any role in the administration of the party. The Civil Court order was appealed by Abbas Waafir, of S.Hulhumeedhoo.
Speaking to the press President Maumoon’s daughter Yumna Maumoon asked the public to remain with President Maumoon and that they will appeal the case at Supreme Court. She said that she hopes Supreme Court will judge justly.
The conflict within the party has divided the party into two factions.
