Chinese government has donated 19 computers to the school run by Autism Association. There are 93 students enrolled at the school at the moment.
Speaking at a ceremony held this morning to donate these computers, the Chinese Ambassador to Maldives H.E Wang Fukang said that these computers are donated for the new autism school that will be opened in Hulhumale’ next year. He said that they have donated one computer for each classroom of that school.
He further said that the Chinese President Xi Jingping and President Yameen has close relations and hence China will always assist Maldives in several ways.
Speaking on behalf of Autism Association, Ifham Hussain said that since they opened the school in 2010, China has assisted the school in several ways.
She said that the Chinese government donated computers even before, but now they are broken. She said that these computers were an essential gift. “Computers play an important role in teaching to kids with autism. There are many autistic kids who cannot speak. That’s why computers play a huge role in teaching them” said Ilham.
Ilham also noted that the Chinese government gave financial aid to the school very recently. She thanked the Chinese Embassy and the Chinese government for their continuous assistance to the school.
