8 members of parliament has joined the Maumoon faction of PPM.
The 8 members who joined Maumoon are MP for Thinadhoo constituency Saudullah Hilmy, MP for Dhihdhoo constituency Abdul Latheef Mohamed, MP for Eydhafushi constituency Ahmed Saleem, MP for Thimarafushi Constituency Mohamed Musthafa, and MP for Nolhivaram constituency Husaain Areef.
In addition, other MPs of Maumoon faction include, MP for Thulusdhoo Mohamed Waheed Ibrahim, MP for Baarashu Ibrahim Shujaau and MP for Dhiggaru Faaris Maumoon.
Speaking at the press conference, Maumoon’s son Faarish said that these are now independent members and they have decided to do what’s best for the country.
They also announced at the press conference that, they will work with the opposition parties to restore laws that were not in the best interest of the people and also work to ensure that such laws are no longer passed.
