Sewerage tariff in Kulhudhuhfushi and Maafushi reduced to RF30

The sewerage tariff in Kulhufuhfushi and Maafushi has been reduced from 100Rf to 30Rf.

Speaking to the press at the head office of MWSC, the company’s CEO Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed said that the company has decided to make this change after President Yameen announced his intent to make this change, speaking at a ceremony held in Makunudhoo.
Fazul said that a tariff is imposed on households because, of the high maintenance cost of the systems. He said that because of this change the company will incur 12 million Rufiyaa as losses annually from Kulhudhuhfushi alone.

Fazul also noted that, no sewage tariffs are taken from any households in Male’. However the company makes huge profits by supplying water to Male’ households.
