MIFCO has reduced the price they sell diesel to fishermen. Previously a liter of diesel was sold for MVR 8.40 and from today they have reduced it to MVR 8.00 per liter.
At a ceremony held in Funadhoo 3 days ago, the MD of STO Ahmed Shaheer said that they reduced the price of diesel so that fishermen will be able to make more profit. Shaheer said that the profit margin will increase with the reduction of diesel price.
With this decrease, fishermen will save Rf80 from each barrel of diesel. Since, the fishing boats used by the fishermen are large these days, they have to use a lot of diesel. Hence, the amount of money saved with this reduction of diesel prices will definitely increase the profit margin for fishermen.
