Mega Maldives to expand their operations and connect Maldives with 4 capital cities !

Mega Maldives has decided to expand their operations and connect Maldives with 4 capital cities.

Even now Mega Maldives has scheduled flights to Beijing and Hong Kong. On November 3rd the airline will start flights to Colombo and on mid-November they will start flights to Kuala Lumpur. and New Delhi the capital of India. Also, flights will be scheduled to Mumbai of India very soon.
Speaking to Miadhu news, the Vice President of Mega Maldives, Mifzal Ahmed said even last year more than 50,000 Indian tourists visited Maldives and that was without direct flights from Mumbai and Delhi. He said with direct flights, the number of tourists from India will increase.


Mifzal said that when they start operating to all these destinations, the tourism sector of Maldives will benefit from it and that is a benefit to the whole country.

Mifzal further said that it is almost 5 years since they started the airline and the last 5 years were the most turbulent in the history of Maldives. However he said that, the airline being able to run at a stable pace shows that the airline is developing.
Mifzal said that recently they had to send some staffs on no pay leave because they reduced flights to some destinations. He said that however now more than 80% of the staffs are back on duty. He said that with the increase of flights all the staffs will start working again.
