MNDF has held the official ceremony to mark Victory Day. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Ashraf Ali the President of Dhivehibahuge Academy.
Speaking at the ceremony Ashraf made two recommendation to MNDF. He asked the soldiers to make the nation their priority and not to hesitate even if they have to sacrifice for the nation with their lives. Ashraf also said that MNDF must always protect the government and that is something that should be done for the sake of the nation. Also he urged MNDF never to get involved in politics.
He said that the sacrifices made by our forefathers can be seen from all areas of life. He said that the Maldivians of today also will not hesitate to sacrifice themselves for the nation as like forefathers did.. He asked the soldiers to take the sacrifices made by past heroes as an example.
Victoray day has been celebrated in Maldives since 1989. The day is marked to celebrate the victory of Maldivians against an armed group of terrorist who attacked Male’ on November 3rd 1988.
