President Yameen Abdul Gayyoom have said that there are 560 ongoing projects even now after government halted some projects for this year.
Speaking at a rally held to mark the 5th anniversary of PPM, President Yameen said that the number of projects will increase next year. President said that the government will come with a 27 billion Rufiyaa budget next year and that money will not be used to construct “palaces”. He said that this money will be used to provide different services to the people.
President said that he did not assume office to compete with rival political leaders, but he came to challenge various problems in the country. President said that he came to power with hopes and it was to the youth he gave these hopes. He said that hence the government is working on empowering the youth and making the lives of youth better.
President said that his government has strong will power and that cannot be changed. He said that with that will he will develop the whole country. President further said that PPM was formed to serve the people and hence the party should be beneficial for the people.
President said that the party should not be a party that destroy the government after assuming office. He also said that he will not be stopped by getting stabbed in the back. In addition he said that in his government people will hesitate to commit crimes and that is because everyone knows that those who commit crimes will not go unpunished.
