Jumhooree Party (JP) has decided to hold JP national council bi-elections this afternoon. The elections will be held during a council meeting.
The Secretory General of JP, Ahmed Sameer told Miadhu News that the council meeting to elect members for vacant positions in the council will start at 1600 hours today. Sameer said that, in the meeting members will be elected for the two new deputy leaders and other vacant positions in the council.
Sameer said that even though the period to apply to run as a JP candidate in local council elections has ended they will still try to accept forms till the due date set by Elections Commissions to apply as a candidate. “ A lot of people are applying to run as JP candidates. That’s why the party will do as much as can to give chance to capable candidates” said Sameer.
Sameer also said that they are now processing the required legal documents for the candidates who have already submitted their forms to JP.
