The national council of Jmhooree Party has elected Abdullah Riyaz, Deputy Leader of the JP PG Group as the deputy leader of Party.
In a meeting held earlier today by the national council of the party, Mohamed Hameed (Umarbe) was elected as the president of JP’s education council and Hasan Zaamir was elected as the president of fishermen’s council.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, the SG of JP Ahmed Sameer said that still there are vacant positions in the party including the position of a deputy leader. Sameer said that members were not elected to these positions because there are many members who are interested in running for these positions and they wanted to give chance to as many people as possible.
Sameer said that the number of people who wants to join JP are increasing because JP always abides by the law and provides various opportunities for people to advance politically.
He said that the party wants to give opportunities to all those who are interested.
Sameer said that since EC has extended the deadline to apply for local council elections, JP will allow members to apply to run as JP candidates till the EC deadline is over.
