Daily News of Sri Lanka has reported that Solas Marine of Sri Lanka has supplied Maldivian Coast Guard with five Fast Interceptor Crafts for 8.3 million dollars.
Solas Marine is the only Sri Lankan company that builds bullet proof coast guard vessels for international defence forces. They have been working in the industry for 8 years.
Defence Minister Adam Shareef Umar said that these vessels will be used to guard the Maldivian territory. Minister said that with these vessels, the capacity of Maldivian coast guard will increase and they will be able to do their duty more efficiently.
