Youth Minister Irthisham Adam have said that NGOs and clubs in Maldives will no longer have to ‘beg’ for money to raise funds for their activities.
She said this in a ceremony held last night to award NGOs with funds from the government. Thirteen NGOs from 11 different fields were awarded with 2.5 million Rufiyaa last night.
Irthisham said that in the past three years this government has spent 2.1 million Rufiyaa for NGOs and spent 2 million Rufiyaa for youth activities via local councils.
Irthisham advised the clubs to use the funds given by the government to increase the club revenues and to become self-sustainable.
